SWTOR Weekly – Story Story Story

Hey everyone!

This week in Star Wars The Old Republic news (14-18), we had a ‘sit by the fire’ Story Dev Live Stream with Charles Boyd and Eric Musco and a KOTET Story Teaser Trailer. So there wasn’t all that much news this week. But let’s talk about what news there was and a couple of other things.

SWTOR News

Rule the Galaxy Teaser

On Wednesday SWTOR released a Teaser of the KOTET story which featured a series of clips form different parts of the story. I am still working on my Breakdown of the Teaser but let’s just say that so far I have found some very interesting things!

Here is the accompanying text from the Video description to consider in the mean time:

A dark empress stands in your way to the throne, and her army is ready to hunt you – The Outlander – and your Alliance to the edge of the galaxy. If you’re going to survive the battles to come, you’ll need loyal friends at your side and the help of unlikely new allies. But when the battle turns desperate, are you willing to put your fate in the hands of the former Emperor?

Dev Stream

On Thursday, Charles Boyd and Eric Musco hosted a Knights Of The Eternal Throne Story Livestream. On the Stream Charles revealed and talked about the two new planets we’ll get to visit as part of the KOTET story. I won’t spoil the names of the planets here but I will likely write more about them next week. One tihng I wills ay which is of interest is that the SWTOR writers actively collaborate with the Lucusfilm story group. Overall it was a fun and informative stream.

Ability Animations

On Friday, new ability animations for Sith Assassin Deception and Jedi Shadow Infiltration were shown on the SWTOR Twitter:

There was zero hint on SWTOR.com that these animations had been revealed. So large number of people probably won’t see them. Generally when the player community has to spread news, it’s likely a lot of players will miss it. If SWTOR.com is the source (not their social media accounts), more people will hear about it overall.

Short Story – A Mothers Hope

After the Dev Stream, they surprise us with a short story by Drew Karypasyn about Senya and Vaylin. The story deals with the aftermath of Chapter 16 with Senya trying to get some medical attention for her son Arcann and Vaylin shows up. It’s a fantastic read!

Blog Posts

In preparation for KOTET, I have started an Essential Lore Series were I go over key lore concerning various characters. It is designed to remind people of various important pieces of lore that could be important in KOTET.

I have started writing Part 3, which is about Vaylin and should hopefully have it done sometime next week. I’m not sure if I will do anymore after that. But if you have suggestions, or something you wish to know more about, let me know.

I also once again wrote about how SWTOR could improve on the Galactic Command System:

Discussion on ways SWTOR could Compromise on Galactic Command Gearing with Comparisons to WildStar

I have more Blog Posts in the works mostly including a recap of the KOTFE story and other lore posts. I’m hoping to get them all done and published by the end of next week.

What did you get up to this week? Are you looking forward to 5.0?
